Bon Courage is one of Robertson, South Africa’s most acclaimed wineries, and it's not hard to see why. Their Colombard-Sauvignon Blanc, The Gooseberry Bush, is one of our best-selling whites. So we’re thrilled to introduce you to their latest release, a berry-fresh rosé with a cute play on their top bottle’s name: The Raspberry Bush.
To make the compelling pink, the Bruwer family—the folks behind Bon Courage—chose to work with their country’s signature red grape, Pinotage. Created from a crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsault, the variety is grown almost exclusively in South Africa and has a reputation for yielding rich, concentrated wines with notes of black and red fruits, leather and spice.
They pressed the grapes quickly and gently, just enough to create a beautiful blushing color and more subtle expressions of the flavors of Pinotage’s calling card. The result is absolutely lip smacking, with lifted tones of strawberry and wild raspberry. It’s a delicious, characterful drop, and a dream to sip solo or to enjoy with salads or veggie kebabs.
