Pillastro Selezione d’Oro is an indulgent treat for lovers of ultra-rich, bold red wines. Crafted at Puglia’s renowned Cantine Due Palme Cooperative, it brims with luscious, spicy plum flavors and a long, chocolatey finish.
The winery’s original Pillastro Primitivo is our #1 southern Italian red. Selezione d’Oro is even more luxurious––as you’ll taste from your very first sip. Handcrafted with old-vine Primitivo grapes sourced from the winery’s very best sites in Puglia, then given a splash of deep, dark Negroamaro, the wine was barrel aged for extra smoothness and complexity. In fact, the 45-year-old vines are so low yielding, it takes the fruit from an entire plant to make just a single bottle of Selezione d’Oro!
It's easy to see why founder Angelo Maci has been named Winemaker of the Year three times at Vinitaly. And that’s just three of the many awards that he, his wine and his cellar have garnered since its founding in 1989. They also won the Cooperative Cellar of the Year title from prestigious Italian guide Gambero Rosso in 2021 and 2023.
This rich, sun-baked treat comes into its own with hearty and rustic Italian fare. Serve at your next big family dinner—it’s a guaranteed hit.
A word to the wise: Just like the regular Pillastro, Selezione d’Oro has a big following—so hurry to guarantee your share.
