It’s light bodied and balanced, with citrus and cherry flavors, and we can't wait for you to try it.
The intriguing selection comes to us from Sofia Barbanera, the pioneering producer behind our hugely popular Saracosa range and the head winemaker at her family’s beautiful Tuscan estate, which has been releasing exceptional wines for over 80 years.
There, surrounded by some of the region’s most famous cellars, she works hard to create selections that are equally impressive. And knowing her fans' love for Sangiovese, she decided to take the grape for a spin…with fantastic results.
She started by selecting a few key vineyard plots. Then, after harvest months later, she gave the grapes the gentlest pressing to separate the juice from the skins and other solids that provide color to the final bottling.
The finished wine retains the tart cherry hallmarks of typical red Sangiovese, with delightful quince and citrus tones layered in nicely. It’s deliciously different and ideal with risotto, seafood and chicken.
