We went to the source. Kristina is our expert on the ground in California. She scours Napa, Sonoma and countless other regions for rare deals on premium wines to bring directly to you. She discovered this Pinot Noir through our old friend, Bill Knuttel, who began his winemaking career at this lauded winery—and the rest is history. More than that, we cannot say, because…

We signed an NDA. If you’re fluent inlawyer-speak, you’ll know an NDA is a Non-Disclosure Agreement. In a wine context, this means the final seller of the wine can share very little (if any) information about the winery that made it.

For example, let’s say a famous estate makes small-batch Pinot Noir from specific single vineyards. In a particularly great vintage, they have a surplus, but the volume is too small for them to spend the money marketing the wine. Instead, they sell it to a trusted friend at a one-off price, so long as they agree not to name the winery. We’re not necessarily saying this is what happened here…As you know, our lips are sealed.

A place like no other. Pinot Noir fans know that Sonoma Coast is one of the elite regions for mind-bendingly good Pinot. The cold winds from the Pacific and trademark fog keep the vines cooler than in inland Sonoma County vineyards. The best wines have an energy and lift that almost impossibly balance the ripe fruit for which California Pinot is loved. Wine Spectator writes,“Sonoma County’s marquee Pinot Noir region shines in the 2023 vintage, with outstanding-rated reds.”

Pinot Perfection. We can tell you that this comes from a blend of five famed Sonoma Coast vineyards (including Roberts Road, Pratt and Van der Camp). The wine was aged for 18 months in fine French oak. It’s juicy and buoyant on the palate with notes of raspberry, black fruit, bramble, cherry cordial, violet and cocoa nibs.

The winery says it would sell this wine for about $70 a bottle under its own label, but it’s yours for $49.99 while our limited cases last.
